Solar-powered mole repellent is a stake-like device driven into the ground that deters burrowing animals (like moles, voles, and gophers) using sonic pulses and vibrations. Powered by a built-in solar panel, it eliminates the need for battery replacements and provides continuous, eco-friendly yard protection.
How It Works
• Sound and Vibration: The device periodically emits a low-frequency sound (usually around 400~1000Hz) and mechanical vibration.
• Pest Irritation: Moles are highly sensitive to ground vibrations. The pulsing noise makes their environment feel unsafe or hostile, prompting them to relocate to quieter areas.
• Solar Power: A small solar panel on top charges an internal battery during the day, ensuring continuous, 24-hour protection without needing to replace batteries or connect to an electrical outlet
Pros & Cons
• Pros: Chemical-free, safe to use around children and pets, and generally weatherproof.
• Cons: The low-frequency pulsing sound can sometimes be heard by humans as a "buzz" or "chatter," which may be a nuisance in very quiet yards.
How to Use
1. Initial Charge: Most devices require turning them off and placing them in direct sunlight for 1-2 days to fully charge their batteries before placing them in the ground.
2. Installation: Use a steel rod or stake to pre-poke a hole in the dirt, then insert the device so that the top cap rests roughly 2 inches above the soil.
3. Coverage: A single stake typically covers a radius of about 50~90 feet or up to 7500sq.ft .. For larger yards, multiple devices spaced strategically are usually required.
